« on: Sunday 23 December 07 17:56 GMT (UK) »

Could someone be kind enough do a 1851 for Cirkit/Sirket living around Sandy/Beeston. Family in 1841..

James bn circa 1796
Ann bn circa 1799
Children
Frances [f] 1824
William 1826
Jane 1831
Pricilla 1837

Could some-one also see who Anne Childs aged 55 of Beeston was living with in 1841 - Is she still alive in 1851 ?

I've done a lot of research on the Surkitts, which was my grandmother's maiden name, although she was from Toseland, Hunts, but I can't find a connection to the Sandy branch.

I have James and Ann (Blewitt) in my tree but I haven't followed them down. I can only get back two generations, and whilst I have my suspicions that the line originated in Willington, I can't prove it

Give me 5 minutes and I'll check the census

May have to take this piecemeal as and when I find them. Heinz 57 varieties has nothing on Surkitt varieties!

Thanks , I assume no 1851 for James and Ann Cirkit [nee Blewitt].

I am aiming to solve an 1881 mystery...

Pricilla Sirket ended up married to another Seamarks - John...the family were poor and ended up in the Bedford House of Industry [poorhouse]. Pricilla's child Harriet appears in the 1881 census living with a Childs family with a strange relationship..daugh in law also in the same household Jane Seamark aged 42 widow described as mother in law.

1881 head Joseph Childs age 29 living 3 All Hallows St Peters born Milton Ernest.

Daughter/son in law also meant stepdaughter/stepson

Would that make more sense of the relationships?

1851 for James & Ann was in my last post, living with presumably Ann's parents
