Season's Greetings to all my 'friends' on rootschat -
May the Blessings of Christmas be on you one and all and may the New Year bring you good health and happiness.....and may we all hear the crumbling of brick walls
We will certainly be having a cool Christmas Day here in north west Victoria - it is a chilly 18° in my office today ... brrrrrr.

The news this am said Brisbane will have its coolest Christmas Day since 1999. It seems that Brisbane has been getting cooler ever since I bought the air conditioning (2 years ago)
Christmas wishes to everyone

I spent a very merry Christmas in Darwin about 35 years ago, and just by the side of the verandah was a huge mango tree, and we sat eating our Christmas dinner, five geese that a couple of lads had got that morning with two bullets, and we watched as the green ants busily sewed together the leaves of the mango tree. We had so much tucker and drink that we invited a few Aboriginals that wandered by to join us. Three of us worked for a removal company and we always told the punters (mostly servicemen) that they could not pack their unused bottles of spirits and wines in with their furniture, so of course we never had to buy any.
This year I am home in Perth, for the first time in four years and it will be hot, 38C which is about 100F for the metricaly challenged amongst us. Sure to be a good one as I trust everyone elses will be.

Oh, boggabarrett, that's a great story - wonderful memories....!
Trish is right - in our neck of the woods Christmas Day will be cool and cloudy, which will be a nice change after about seven boiling hot Christmas Days in a row! Good eating weather - not that I need that, I've been socialising and overeating since late November!!
Try this link - http://www.kenduncan.com/echristmas
It's the Aussie version of Jingle Bells with an accompanying slide show of Aussie scenes. I reckon it's great!
And I'm indulging my beloved Scottish ancestry on Christmas Eve by watching the Edinburgh Tattoo! I love it every year. But it's not as good as being there!
