Clayton family of Bromyard
« on: Monday 24 December 07 14:13 GMT (UK) »

Does anyone have access to the parish registers of Bromyard, as I would very much like to know both the parents names of one Ann Clayton b.1811. I know she was the daughter of William, but nothing else. If I knew the names of both parents I might be able to go further back and find a marriage for them. Any leads welcome.

Hi, From the IGI.

There is a christening for Ann Clayton, 14/08/1808, Thornbury, Hereford,

Parents, William and Ann,

And a marriage for William Clayton, and Anne Hollings, 17/11/1807, Pencombe, Hereford,

Both these places are within 4-5 miles of Bromyard, Hereford.

Hope this helps.

This is of help, but hard to prove! I am aiming for Bromyard because that's where she said she was born on the 1861 census..however on the 1851 it was NK, so possibly further afield. Thank you anyway.

Bromyard Herefordshire baptisms are indexed on the IGI  1752-1821 and Bromyard Independent Chapel 1696-1836. No Claytons.

You can check parish register coverage on the IGI and access individual parishes on the IGI through this website.
