That's typical. Offering half prices lookups when people tend not to want them. I wonder how many people took them up on that offer. Christmas is a busy time for most families ... how many of them research their ancestry at that time of year?

I would not mind but the two birth i paid for both turned out not to be ours Cry
It is very expensive as you are just chancing your arm, no way of matching family up and no where on the site to ask for help.
Your money would be better spent phoning or email Galway records on Newcastle road. I have found them very helpfull.

I tend to agree with you Migky.

There's a better chance of getting the proper information if you are able to talk to people or even discuss your requirements and get responses via an email. Paying money merely to have a look at something that may not be correct does not make much sense even it is a half price offer.

Well Christopher, they have gone and done it again. They have put all records on for half price again ( €5.00 each ) for st. Patricks week, or should i say till the end of March. Also there are many more county's to search. And just like when you have a big fat juicy worm on the end of your fishing rod, i took the bait yet again, but this time i only spent the €5.00 and got hold of my great-grandparents wedding record. I know who my g/g-grandfather was and also that it has confermed that my greatgrandfather was in the army. So some time the little fish does get the big fat worm  Grin

€5.00 isn't a large investment for a small return.

I hope a few more get a bit of information from Galway before the end of the month.

Well Christopher, it is almost June and i am still getting records from that site at  €5 each and since my last post on here many other counties have been put on the net. Also it is always free to search , you only pay to see and print a full record.
