Just came across this entry in the Litchfield registers, from ab 1700
Diana Smith, daughter of Thomas Smith, of Knightly, com. Staff., taylor, at 2 yeares old had 9 Grandfathers and Grandmothers liveing, vizt., her Father's Grandfather and Grandmother, her Father's Father and Mother, her Father's Mother's Mother, her Mother's Grandfather and Grandmother, her Mother's Father and Mother, the sd. Tho. Smith, being then 22 yrs. old, and his W. 31, when Dianna was born.
Must of been unusual in them days to rate an entry?
Pete

I reckon it would have been very unusual back then, Pete, when people basically lived much shorter lives than we do. Must have been strong genes in that family!
