The following batches of data in the IGI may be used at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle 

Alternatively go to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true enter the surname, region and batch number in the appropriate boxes and hit "Search" to be given results.

If you find M batches for a parish having no C batches (or vice-versa) change the batch prefix to C (or M) you might be lucky then add or subtract 1 or 2  and re-search.
