I was!!

ELIZABETH ASTILL married JOSEPH FAIRY

Jun qtr 1859 Market Bosworth  7a 122

But, perhaps she was married previously as the only suitable death I can find for her is 1874 but the age given is 53 which means that the census info would be quite far out!!

By pure coincidence I was looking at the 1861 census for Kimbolton last weekend & spotted the Joseph & Elizabeth Fairy (& immediately thought does Dale  / Marlene know anything of these pair)  - but thats not the reason;  as they were living next door to Joseph Wagstaff & his wife Elizabeth -  who so happens to be (possibly) the subject to the following posting raised by Linda.

Oh, no, not another Hunts William Fairy!  Between us Marlene and I have quite a few of them and Josephs a-plenty, too, and still no relationship established between our two families from the village of Gt. Catworth.

I can't connect this William and Joseph with my family.  I do remember once finding a site with photos and stories about these farmers, but can I find it now...? Roll Eyes

Marlene, where are you? Cheesy

Kia Ora All
Been out watering the garden on a beautiful South Pacific evening!

This William & Joseph I cannot connect but I do recall that Joseph had a wife Ann  and their birthdays were very close to my Joseph & Ann from  Riseley and then Yelden Beds

The Covington Faireys seemed very well heeled compared to my lot! There's "stuff" on National Archives. Wills etc.

I do remember that Sir Richard Fairey's obituary said that his family had been in Hunts for 400 years so I have no doubt that they are connected - the question is who is going to break the late 17oos barrier! Roll Eyes
Happy New Year all!

Kia Ora Wozzle
THANK you! That's the one I was thinking of!  I have a Joseph var. Farey?Fairy/Fairey who married Ann Rootham, both of Riseley. They went to live in Yelden about 1826!

My Joseph was baptised 1798 so I had to be careful that I was following the right couple!

If Emma decides that Joseph born Dean is hers I have that family tree - somewhere!
Regards
Dale
