Craik Family in Forfar 1800's
« on: Friday 28 December 07 17:50 GMT (UK) »

Hi

Can anyone help me with the Craik family from Scotland.  My Great Aunt married (1914) John B Craik (Born) 1879 - (Died)1917 whose family owned a Jute Mill in Scotland.

The website scottishtextileheritage.org.uk/partnerCollections/index.asp
has a mention of Craiks Ltd. Linen and Jute Merchants and Manufacturers 1877 - 1982.  It was situated in Forfar, Angus.

I take it that you are not in Scotland, then.

The Angus archives may be able to help you with details of Craik's mill - Here's their email address - angus.archives@angus.gov.uk

Hope this helps
