1861 & 1871 census lookup please RIGG
« on: Saturday 29 December 07 21:35 GMT (UK) »

Hi there,

Am hoping someone can locate me a Robinson Rigg in 1861 and 1871.
I have him in 1851 and 1881 but nothing in between.

Robinson Rigg chr 1821 St James Whitehaven Cumb.
wife Eliza  M born about 1844 Dublin Ireland.
daughter Elva RIGG born about 1868 Hensingham Cumb.

In 1851 address was Fellside Cottage, Bootle, Cumb.
in 1881 Vale View, St Bees, Cumb. if that's of any help.

Thanks in advance.
Lilygirl.

Hi,

Thanks Iria that's really good. Does show that Jane is Evas mother rather than Eliz.
Eliz shows up with Robinson in 1881 census and was born in Ireland so maybe he travelled after the death of his first wife?? who knows!

I'd just found that death record also and was guessing that could be his Jane but thanks for pointing that out Norma.
I see what looks like Robinsons death in 1898 so can some kind soul please see if they can see him in 1891 census and post that please please please.

Then I suppose I have to locate what Eva did after 1881.

Thanks again,
Lilygirl.

There's no need to have travelled ... there was no shortage of Irish men and women in Whitehaven!

If this was him, the answer will be No Sad

Deaths Jun 1898
Rigg    Robinson    77    Fylde    8e   446a

Perhaps he had a boarding house in Blackpool (or simply retired there). Smiley

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realise you were asking about the young one  Roll Eyes  I can't find him Huh
