The Jaggers (Jeggers or Jaggurs) Family
« on: Sunday 30 December 07 14:35 GMT (UK) »

My great-great-grandfather, Joseph Jaggers was a "soldier in the Royal Marines" according to his daughter's birth cert. in 1848,based in Brompton, Kent. According to the 1851 census a Joseph Jeggers was a patient at the Chatham Melville hospital and his birth in about 1814 was in Whitbridge, Bucks. According to his marriage record on Family Search, his father was James Jaggers.

I cannot find Whitbridge on any maps, google, etc. Does/did it exist or might this be a poor transcription of a similar name?

I can find neither Joseph or James in Bucks in the 1841 census. Does anyone know anything about this family?

Possibly Whitchurch?

Unfortunately, it's not included in the IGI.  Cry
