The first record of Evan I have found is of him as a servant on the 1851 census aged 14 with the Eaton family. However, on the 1841 census when Evan would have been aged 4, there is a John Eaton aged 4 living in the same household - and I cannot find a record of Evan Evans anywhere. Could John Eaton and Evan Evans be the same person ? Please could someone provide me with a second opinion. Thanks.

Hi Columbo,

According to my tree, the John EATON that you've found aged 4 in 1841, is recorded in the 1851 census residing with his grandparents Rowland and Elizabeth BEVAN at Horton, Penrice - still named John EATON. I think my information is correct but, as always, there is the possibility that I've got the wrong lad.
