Thomas budden Blandford/Pimperne

I am trying to trace details of Thomas Budden born around 1793 in Dorset who subsequently married Jane who was born in West Indies in 1811. They had a daughter Called Jane, also born in  West Indies around 1830 and then seemed to return to Blandford as they are on the 1851 Census with subsequent children. Thomas Budden was a Tailor and I would appreciate any details that can be given as to earlier censuses or information as to why he went to the West Indies prior to his marriage.

I searched the Dorset OPC site http://www.dorset-opc.com for "thomas budden blandford" with "Find ALL words" and got 60 hits

this was Hit nr. 10, :

Check out the 'dissenters' church records.  Quite likely you Buddens were Quakers.  I found (Blandford Dissenters)

Catherine Budden b. 7- 12-1763 to Thomas and Martha
William Budden      b. 27-4-1785  to Thomas and Susanna
Henry Budden        b. 13-1-1792  to Thomas and Susanna

Many Puritans and Quakers quit these shores, due to religious persecution.
