i didn't know there were so many suttons in england
sutton in ashfield is in nottinghamshire on modern maps
but derbyshire is very close
it looks like the M1 is the border  Smiley

Sutton in Ashfield is definitely in Nottinghamshire though near the border of Derbyshire.  Nearest big town Mansfield.

Happy New Year to you.  My 3 children were all born in Sutton at Kingsmill hospital (better bred my mother said) It's a very old town part of the Royal lands Sherwood Forest and all that.
