largest encampment of gypsies
« on: Monday 31 December 07 15:17 UTC (UK) »

hello all,
does anyone have access to the 1901 census at national archives? Undecided
i have read that there is an encampment there at lambourne essex of over 150 gypsy travellers and that its group consists of '' bibbys, draper, finch, grey/gray, harris, law, scarrott, webb, etc, etc. (lots more, this is just a few names).
was hoping that someone could have a look and let me have a copy of it.
the reference is RG13 1644 folios 131,132,133.
many thanks.

Hi Amanda,

I've found it on Ancestry, do you subscribe?  There's too many sheets to send.

Good luck.......Libby

Hi Amanda

All you have to do is click on the 1901 census for England,  Go to where it shows

          piece       folio      page
Rg13/

enter 1644        131       29

should take you to the page, click on the first name on the list which should be Jane Amos, that will take you to the census sheet, then all you have to do is either save it to your computer by clicking the save icon, or the print option , then it will print that page out for you. When you have done that click the little green arrow which says next, and that will load the next census sheet up and keep doing that till either you have saved or printed all of what you want.

regards
