Jordan family of Barking
« on: Tuesday 01 January 08 21:14 GMT (UK) »

Hope someone can help.  I am looking for death and burial place of William Olley Jordan.  Was alive on the 1901 census along with his wife Mary.  Checked the Rippleside Cemetery records also the Crow Lane Cemetery.  They were living at Bennett's Castle Lane.
Thanks, pmc49

Hello pmc49

Its best to start with his death certificate. To search on freebmd for his death index we need to know his age. How old would he have been in 1901?

Hi Amanda,

I have checked the BMD on line and at the Family Record Centre up to 1916 when I was there in September.
William was born ca. 1838, he would have been about 62 in 1901.

Hi pmc49

I guess your William could have died after 1916, unfortunately it is a tedious process of searching through each quarterly volume.
I haven't had any success searching on the burial indexes, at least you can eliminate Axe Street cemetery and All Saints Barking from your list. Of course there is a chance he was cremated  Undecided

Perhaps SEAX may be able to help  Undecided

Best wishes
