rebecca Hatch/Thatch
« on: Wednesday 02 January 08 01:40 GMT (UK) »

I have recently found a family member who disappears from sight after 1891. I found her by chance as the informant on the death cert of another family member. This death cert was dated 1954 North Morar . On the cert the informant is down as Rebecca Thatch but that is crossed out and the name Hatch written above. The address is given as Nursery Cottages Invergarry. This was the family home. I have tried Scotlandspeople for marriages between Hatch/ Thatch and Rebecca McDonnell (and all spelling variations of that name) but no luck so far.
Does anyone have access to the electoral register for 1954/55 or can tell me where to get hold of it. I have Googled for Libraries in that area but again no luck.
Rebecca was born in 1877.Grateful for any help.
Chris.
PS I have tried Scotlandspeople Death certs for Rebecca but again no luck.

hi ccr  Smiley

a few thoughts -
family member died 1954 north morar
rebecca signed it off as relationship ?
scotlandspeople deaths up to 1956(or is it 1957 now)
rebecca born 1877 details ?
Huh out of box , but is this the same rebecca if you can't find a match ?

the jump between 1891 and 1954 is quite a leap with
not too many dots
if born in 1877 rebecca would have been knocking on a bit in 1954

yours

Rebecca signs off as sister. I have her birth cert and Margaret's birth cert. Parents are the same.
Margaret was born 1874 and lived with grandparents (maternal) their names are verified via her mother's wedding and death certs.
Rebecca found in 1881 living with parents Nursery cottage Invergarry and 1891 census as domestic servant invergarry. Cannot find her in 1901 though I have the rest of the family. The parents of both girls were living at same address in 1936 and 1943 at the time of their deaths. This is how I can connect the dots.
