Need help translating German documents?
« on: Wednesday 02 January 08 11:26 GMT (UK) »

If you have German documents which need translating, I'd be happy to help.  I have had 6 years experience working as a translator on a Holocaust-related project and have worked with documents in the old script, both handwritten and printed.

No payment expected, by the way.  This is just to keep my skills going.

Hello Gill,

I thought I was pretty good at reading old German documents - at least from  the 19th century. However, I recently received a page of a document 'scribbled' in 1682! I can read about three words.

Fancy a challenge?

Never could resist a challenge, though I must admit I've not done anything as old as that before.  If we're talking about Early New High German, I shall have to fish out my Uni text books.

I'll send you a PM with my email adress, so you can attach it to your reply.

Regards,
Gill
