1901 census - Moses BLACKLEY [and wife Annie - my link]...was there a Dorothy - daughter or did she miss the 1901 census - maybe as I think she was born in 1902? She left jewelry to my sister which has been passed on to our neice...and we would like to give our young neice the full history.
'Aunt Dorrie' married a man serving with the East India Company and bought a lot of things home with her including gaudy eastern jewelry and wooden statues.

Hello Cath, Have you any info on Moses & Annie? such as year/place of birth as I cannot find them on 1901, let alone daughter Dorothy...
Happy Boxing Day, regards John

I only found them over Christmas because one my sisters gave our neice some jewelry from India that she was left by an ancient Aunt...we dug through Granny's notebooks to try & the maiden name...her mother was certainly a BLACKWELL - but we are not too sure of Dad's name - Moses BRACKLEY [BECKLEY]? I think it could be BECKLEY....but Dad was a Moses according to my Nan who was rarely wrong!
I dont think Aunt Dorrie had been born in 1901! I think she was born in 1902 or later? If I get her correct maiden name I can get an Indian marriage cert, I think from Indian archives
