Scotland's Greatest Story family history research service

Hi all,

Scotland's Greatest Story was set up almost two years ago to help people with their family history research, going beyond the basic online resources of Scotland's People and the IGI etc to the hidden gems and documents here in Scotland that many people do not know even exist. As such we pride ourselves in being able to help smash genealogical brick walls at a competitive rate, and in revealing extraordinary stories that simply cannot be found from the basic BDM resources. We do not believe in setting a standard charge of hundreds of pounds in advance, as every story in every family line is different - some may disappear from Scotland in just a couple of generations, whilst others may go back for centuries.

Our research work has recently seen us help a client in the USA to discover that one of Scotland's foremost intitutions illegally retained the body parts of two of her cousins after their murder in 1911 by their father, for preservation in their museum (to be featured on the BBC's Reporting Scotland in January 2008); we have discovered the humble origins of a current Scottish life peer in the 19th Century merchant district of Glasgow; connected a client in Falkirk to the famous Scottish poet James Hogg, better known as the Ettrick Shepherd; taken the family of a client in Egypt back to the 1450s in Cupar Abbey; and much more. We have also contributed research to the BBC's Digging Up Your Roots series.

For a free quote and suggested research plan, please contact us through enquiry@scotlandsgreateststory.co.uk or visit our website at www.scotlandsgreateststory.co.uk . Our new regularly updated blog at http://scottishancestry.blogspot.com also keeps regular tabs on news and events relevant to Scottish genealogy and beyond.

We look forward to hearing from you!
