Hi
I have today been looking through some PR's for a place called Naburn, which I believe is just outside of York.
Not only did it give the parents name of the baptisms entry, but it also stated both set of grandparents plus occupations and abode

Hello Carol:
What you have come across is called Dade Registration. They did this for about 10 years but not all counties did this but parts of Yorkshire did and if you come across it you are really luck. I came across this with my Savage family and it help me sort the families out.. Was able to get back a few more generations. I think I read somewhere that the reason it was stopped as the minister could not be bothered to write everything out.. Somewhere in my files I have a list of places that used this system. Must say it is a great help.
