Could someone look up J. William Tod wife Isabella [born about 1797]. All children born in Bathgate . 1822-34. Trying to find parents of J.William and Isabella Meikle-Tod

No sign of Isabella/Isabell/Isabel/Isobel Tod (d) anywhere in the 1851 for West Lothian.

Can you supply us with the names of the children and their years of birth and perhaps we can look for them

william g.f born 8 nov 1828 [my line] he and family were in ayton in 1856
david born 12 oct 1839 bathgate
john born 3 apr 1834 bathagte [came to usa]

This seems to be them, courtesy of FREECEN in 1841

Engine Street Bathgate.

William Todd aged 50 Grocer born West Lothian
Jessie Todd aged 15 born West Lothian
William Todd aged 13 born West Lothian
John Todd aged 7 born West Lothian.

No sign of Isabella, his wife, or children Robert and David.

This then appears to be the family in 1851.

Engine Street Bathgate.

William Tod aged 62, widower, born Livingston West Lothian, Occupation Labourer Grocer.

Janet Tod aged 28, daughter, unmarried, born Bathgate West Lothian, Occupation Shopkeeper.

William and John not showing in West Lothian in 1851.

Hi Again!

There is a birth of a William Tod on the IGI. Parents John Tod and Vilot Lithgow in Livingston. Date of Birth 12 Apr 1789.

A quick check on www.Scotlandspeople.gov.uk shows the death of a William Tod (watch the spelling, only one d in Tod) He died in 1858 in Bathgate and his mother's surname was Lithgow.  The informant may well be a family member.

Worth a check I think
