Is anyone looking for this family line? william born bategate to j. william todd- isabella meikle. sister janet, brothers robert, david , john. all born bategate. i am trying to find parents of j. william and isabella meikle. and burial of them

Hi, thought I'd have a quick look at the IGIs for you.

WILLIAM TODD = ISABELLA MEIKLE 13th Nov 1821,Carriden, West Lothian.

The only possible entry that I can see for Isabella is;

ISABELLA MEIKLE b 13th Mar 1800,Dalmeny, West Lothian

Father - ALEXANDER MEIKLE
Mother - JANET WADDEL

Both of the above are extracted entries. I looked for the marriage of Alexander and Janet but only found a submitted one,  ALEXANDER MEIKLE = JANET WADDEL 21st Dec 1795, Dalmeny, West Lothian. I'm quite suspicious of this entry as it gives the same date as the birth of this couples eldest child Robert. His entry is extracted from the OPRs if this parents got married on the same day why are they not there also?

Two possibles for WILLIAM TODD

WILLIAM TOAD b 1st Jan 1786 Torphichen, West Lothian
Father - George Toad
Mother - Jean Peetre

WILLIAM TOD b 12th Apr 1789 Livingston, West Lothian
Father - John Tod
Mother - Vilot Lithgow

If William or Isabella were alive after 1841 you may get their place of birth from the census. If they died after 1855 (in Scotland ) their DCs should show their parents names.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. I DID HAVE THE MARRIAGE FOR WILLIAM AND ISABELLA. BUT FINDING THEIR PARENTS HAS BEEN TRYING. WILLAM G.F.TOD'S FATHER WAS JOHN WILLIAM TOD-TODD. HE WAS LISTED AS JOHN ON SOME THINGS AND WILLIAM ON OTHERS. I WILL TRY TO CONNECT THE FAMILY WITH NAMES YOU GAVE.  WILLIAM G.F TOD DIED 2 AUG 1884 AYTON MAYBE I CAN FIND A DEATH CERT. THANK YOU AGAIN.SUE
