Logan/Greer/Grier. John Knox St
« on: Sunday 06 January 08 23:12 GMT (UK) »

Ellen Greer or Grier (10 Lower Elgin St) the daughter of Sarah Greer married Daniel Logan (12 North bank St) in 1901. Daniel from County Fermanagh worked in the shipyards . They had 6 (?) children, Francis 1902,Sarah 1903,Margaret 1905, Catherine 1907, Mary born ?.
Ellen died and I can't find any trace of death. Daniel married my grandmother Catherine Connolly from County Tyrone in Stirling in 1915 he stated he was a widower..and they had 3 children.  Margaret,Catherine(Cassie) and Mary lived with Daniel and Catherine Connolly in John Knox St with their children Agnes,Daniel and Mary Ann. He went to New York in 1923 and was never seen again.
Any info at all would be appreciated on Greer/Grier and the children Francis,Sarah, Margaret, Cassie, Mary and other possible child.

Hi Kate

There is a likely death showing from searches on Scotlands People. One entry comes up for a 28 yrs old HELEN Logan/Greer in 1909 in Old Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire. Might be worthwhile you having a look....

Regards.

You are spot on! I have been searching Scotlands People and was going round in circles. The father of Helen/Ellen is William on marriage cert but John on death cert but what is very clear is Daniel Logans signature and his occupation. Thank you so much. Smiley    One more wall knocked down.
