Going by family history I always believed my GGx2 Grandfather William Francis Humphries was born in England, HOWEVER, after finally seeing a copy of the 1901 Limerick Census I find he was in fact born in Co Westmeath about 1839. Unfortunately, I have no idea as to the area he was born in.
The only other Humphries names I have connected to him are
Thomas Humphries/Humphreys who was witness at the marriage of William to Martha Hinchy of Limerick in St Michaels RC Church, Limerick and Mary Humphries who was godparent to one of his many children.
William and Martha had several children- George, Emily, William, Mary, Matilda, Harriet, Agnes, Martha, Clare, Elizabeth and Francis.
William was a Telegraph Engineer in Limerick.
Are there any Humphries in Westmeath who may be able to add to this information please?

From what I found in the on-line Griffith's Valuation of 1854.
There is 5 listings for William Humphries, in the same Parish ( Kilcleagh ) Co. Westmeath. Each listing is in a different Townland.

Thank you very much for that information. Will try and track those William Humphries. Unfortunately, Westmeath Heritage Centre were unable to locate a birth record for my William Humphries as some parish records are missing.

Your Welcome, Have you tried searching the microfilm for Kilcleagh in Westmeath at a Latter-Day-Saint's , Family History Center ? The film number for Kilaleagh is
( 1279227 ) Items 1 thru 6 and 9 thru 11.
