1901 Charles Woodage

Hi can anyone find Charles Woodage b.1882 on the 1901 census he should be in Bucks.His family are listed as Woodgate but he isn't with them.


There is also some confusion as there is another Charles Woodage in Berks with the same age different parents.Charles in Berks is the son of William and Mary my Charles is the son of John and Mary.

Any help greatly appreciated.My Charles married Fanny Jezeph in Sept 1901 in Iver bucks.

have you seen the 1901 census for fanny jeseph
there is a george woodage,amelia woodage,nellie woodage in the same household along with various members of the jeseph family

Thanks  yes I have seen that George is Charle's brother and Fanny is the Jezeph that married my G'father Charles, I have the marriage cert.
Nellie is in fact  Ellen Georgina Jezeph the illigitimate dau of Amelia and George have the birth cert no fathers name but making assumption.

Have tried every combo I can think of for Charles without success.the remainder of the family are listed as Woodgate

Hi Pips,
          I like a bit of a challenge so had a look, couldnt find anything on census you wanted.
I then had a look at a tree and found Fanny Elizabeth Jezeph b 1884 and she is married to a Michael Woodage. Fannys parents are Charles Edward Jezeph and Elizabeth Mary Pusey.
It also mentions child of Fanny and Michael as Violet Edith R Woodage 1912-1980.
There is also a link to 1891 census and some photos of Fanny and Michael are on the tree.
      Might not be your family but with an unusual name like Fanny Jezeph it might be worth you having a look.

Sounds a bit like my family Fanny Elizabeth Jezeph married Charles Edward Woodage  21 Sept 1901. Fanny was born 1884.I have the cert of Marriage.
Charles was the son of John Woodage b,1851 and Mary Heath  married 1871
Fanny was the daughter Of Charles Jezeph and Amelia Mary Puzzey.Charles and Fanny had these Children
Amelia Mary b,1903
Ellen Amy  b1906
Charles Edward b1907
Albert Thomas  b1910
Violet Edith R B.1912
Sidney W b1914
Lilian Alice May b1916 (my mother)
Gladys Florence b1920
John William b 1924
Charles and Fanny also raised Fanny's sisters child Gordon Jezeph

I would be interested in where you found this tree as it seems to be mine but if it is it is inaccurate.
I love a challenge too, which is good as parts of my tree have definately been challenging including the mystery of Nellie.

Hi Tricia Charles was a Labourer on the marriage cert.

Thanks Sue I had that info and also the census 1901, 1891 1881 for the jezephs.

Finding Charles on the 1901 is mostly curiousity,where was he.??
