Marriage look up please c 1690

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me find a marriage for a William Bridle to a Jane no later than 1691. William lived in Frome Vauchurch. Unfortunately, I know nothing about his wife.

Any help would be much appreciated.

On IGI there is a marriage of a William Bridle to a Jane Hern  - 09 AUG 1688 Stoke Abbott, Dorset, England. Don't know if Frome Vauchurch is that neck of the woods.

Hi Mab,

Thanks for getting back to me. I had a look at the IGI and noticed this marriage has been entered 6 times in the IGI. In one marriage Jane Hern is shown marrying William Bridle, and in the other 5 she's shown marrying John Bridle. On the Dorset OPC website, the Phillimore's marriage extract for Stoke Abbot also has her marrying a John Bridle. I'm unsure now about which is the correct name for the groom. Huh

There is one marriage on IGI to John Bridle that is an extracted record as opposed to all the others marriages which are submitted records.

I'm not familiar with the Phillimore data base as I have never used it.
