Hi everyone, A few months ago I was out at Galong, NSW, at the Redemptorist Monastery (now also a retreat/conference venue) to give a workshop, and took the opportunity (of course!!) to visit the local cemetery. I took photos of the following gravestones as they were quite early (for Australia, at least), so if anyone wants a copy of the pics, let me know.
Sacred to the Memory of Timothy O'BRIEN, who departed this life on the [...] day of [...] 1854 in the 37th year of his age, leaving a wife and five children to lament the loss of an affectionate husband and good father. Requiescant in Pace Amen.
WHEELAN/WHELAN - various (a general view of several graves)
Sacred to the Memory of Michael MURRY, native of Dunmanwey, County of Cork, Ireland, who departed this life June 18, 1855, aged 68 years. ALSO Michael, son of the above, who died July 15, 1859, aged 16 years.
Sacred to the Memory of Aann [sic] MURRY, native of Ballo, County of Tipperary, Ireland, who departed this life June 18, 1855, aged 25 years.
In memory of Henry CASTLES who departed this life Novr 28th, 1852, aged 55 years.
Sacred to the Memory of Ann WILDING, born in Macroom, County Cork, Ireland. Died July 30th 1860 in Gunnary, New South Wales, aged 47 years. May she rest in peace.
