Hi there
I wonder if anyone has this lady in their family tree please? I cannot find her baptism anywhere so am stuck with her ancestry.
On 7th May 1809 she married William Turner at St Thomas's Church, Dudley.
Their children included Edward, Thomas, Maria, Matilda and Emma, but I have been unable to find any of their baptisms.
By 1841 they had moved to Staffordshire.
Hope someone recognises this lady!
Best wishes and a Merry Christmas!
Judy

I have come across this, and found that my family were all Baptists. The Baptist Church only named children as babies, they were baptised as adults. To make it even more difficult a lot of these Non Conformist Registers have been lost over the years, there are many missing Baptism's the only ones that have really been kept are C of E Baptism's. mrswoman

Did you find Honor, baptized, 1/4/1810, and Willm., baptized 8/3/1812, on IGI?
Their parents are given as William and Zippora(h) Turner.
Both baptized at St Thomas, Dudley, ref. C040142.
not yet on FREEREG.

Hi mrswoman
Thanks for your ideas too. It is always a possibility. I have some late 19th century ancestors who were Primitive Methodists, but am unable to find any baptism records as the registers were lost when the church closed down.

Judy, did you get the witnesses for William and Zipporo's Marriage? Any clues there? What about their children, could their names be the names of William and Zipporah's children? from mrswoman

Hi mrswoman
Zephia or Zipporah! Could be the same woman
I haven't actually seen the marriage entry - I received it a few years ago from the BMSGH Worcestershire marriage index. The lady who sent it me didn't mention any witnesses, so I just assumed that they weren't named.
I should really make the effort and visit the Record Office and check it out for myself!I was just hoping that someone might be tracing the Aston family and have Zephia in their tree - (the easy way of doing research!!!)
Thanks again for your help!
Have a very Merry Christmas, and Good Luck in 2008!!
Judy

Hi Judy, I would think that a marriage of 1809 would have witnesses, I will try and remember to have a look when I go to Dudley after Xmas, will get back to you. Have a great Xmas yourself, best wishes from mrswoman.
