Cholera, Smallpox & Plague - Sudbury
« on: Sunday 06 January 08 12:07 GMT (UK) »

Hi all
this is not exactly a look-up request, but does anyone have information about Cholera and small pox outbreaks in Sudbury ? Maybe there are such things as death lists for this ? I'm particly looking at the period 1830/32. I hope someone can help me with this, thanks a lot and
all the best

Hi Pete

carnt help with your request, but a couple of years ago was walking around a graveyard in Suffolk, and came across a large gravestone, and it had a list of people who had died from Cholera, and said that they were buried below the gravestone. I just carnt remember which graveyard though.

At Suffolk Local History Council many articles can be requested via the Review Articles page - there was certainly one on a cholera outbreak in the Lowestoft area in 1848.
When I next go to the office, I will check to see if anything pertaining to the Sudbury area.
