« on: Tuesday 04 January 05 08:47 GMT (UK) »

Does anyone know of a Brickworks factory/manufacturer in or around Llangollen in the 1880s.

Also of a Brewery at the turn of the century.

Thanks , MIke

The Sun brewery sounds like the most likely one. Found a few details here:

My grandfather, Rev. William Phillips (1880 - 1969) in his book on his childhood in Rhosllanerchrugog entitled "Atgofion"states that  his great uncle, Jonathan Powell, worked as a foreman in J C Edwards's brickworks. According to the Census returns 1881 -1901 Jonathan lived with his family in Cefn Mawr which is not far from Llangollen.
