death information

Hi there,
I'm trying to find the death records of my grandfather Lewis Gordon Bradley [ born in Bourn Lincolnshire in 1889] who lived in the west bridgford area after his marriage and at other times during his life as well as in New Zealand.
All I know is that he died during the war years before my father left England to live in Australia. Unfortunately I dont know where exactly he was living when he died. I have been unable to find any records in the freeBDM
Can anyone help

Hi Chicka,

I'm afraid FreeBMD is indeed not very useful for the years you are searching.

You will probably have to go through the complete indexes (= look up every quarter of every year) which are currently free to search here:   
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

We finally found his death records and he died on 9/10/1941 at Hitchin hospital in the county of Hertford and that his death was registered by my father at the time. That has left us with another problem as we don't know what happened to his second wife Harriett Adeline Ella Bradley[ nee Mayes]. We can't find records of her in either New Zealand or GB so am now trying to track down her whereabouts.
