linch/ Fernhurst hampshire or sussex

i have a mary ann shotter nee west who is transcribed as being born Linch Hants or Fernhurst hants but i noticed that there is linch West Sussex

was one of these places on the border in the 1800's Huh

is it all the same place  Huh

I know that area a little, my partner comes from near there and both Fernhurst and Linch are very near to the Hants/Sussex border which I am sure will have wiggled its way through time.

The registers for both of these (which are listed in the parish atlas as Sussex) are held at the record office in Chichester.
