Marriage Lookup

I am trying to find the marriage of Thomas George Atkins to Christine Dorothy Ward, in Portsmouth in the June Quarter of 1923. Thomas was born in Farnham in 1901. Christine was born in Dudley, West Midlands.
I would appreciate any help please. I have been trying to find relations of Christine (Atkins)as she had our family history(Ward) back to the 1300s.

Is it the GRO reference you are searching for, in order to be able to order the certificate?

If so, I can see
Jun 1923 Portsmouth 2b 1021 Thomas G Atkins - spouse's name Ward

Cross checking for Miss Ward, it isn't Christine Dorothy though. The lady was Elsie A   Huh

Darn it..have to rule him out then...trying to find out who Christine married...cant get any info from the last address she had in the 50's in Olbury...

FreeBMD has a Christine D Ward marrying a John Cleeve in Oc/Nov/Dec 1918 in Farnham reg district - any good?

Thanks Liz...wish it was so. Christine was born in 1904, so unless they married at 14.. Smiley
I have been trying to find her and whom she married, as her name at some stage changed to Atkins. She lived in 3 Church Square in Oldbury West Midlands. My cousin here gave me a cut out from a local paper from the 50's, listing all the family back to 1300's and mentioning family bible...but who has it?
Back on the trail again...thank you so much..

So, it is likely that Chrsitine Atkins is dead (or else 103). Have you found her death? Will need either subscription to view the post 1983 database, or for some kind soul to do look up. At least that will give you a timetable as to when her possessions were passed on, and where whe was. Do you know if she had family? If not, death cert might give a son or daughters name as informant. Looing for her will would hopefully give names of descendents, plus names and addresses of executors at the time will was proved - so they would be worth contacting.

Just some ideas - you may have them already

She's not in the post 1983 database - not as Atkins anyway.

I can't see a marriage for her on WestMidlands BMD or Staffordshire BMD either  Sad

Hi..she was classified in the write up in approx 1953, as an elderly woman? Shocked..it makes for interesting reading if you wanted to have a look...all I know about her is she was a cousin of my fathers, and he had a few, on the Ward side. Her parents were, like me, born in Shropshire. I know at some stage I will have to pay per view to see if I can find her death. I will have a look in the Midlands page and see if anyone can help there...
