cornwell c1815 cambs

could anyone help with the birth of isaac cornwell
i have found him on census for1841,51,81and 91 shows he was born in bottisham.
he was married to sarah lofts or loughts in 1836 and rebekah papworth in 1839
have looked on family search and camb family history site but cant find him.

any help would be appreciated

Sorry about the delay. I missed your post among the census requests.

I can't see him either.

I would get his 1839 marriage cert from the GRO from which you should get his father's name, which might help to track him down.

Have you checked the 1836 marriage entry to see if there is a clue from the witnesses?

thanks for looking, i havent sent for any certificates as yet as i was trying to get as far as i could without them. it becomes very expensive to purchase them all but in this case i think it may well be necessary.

sorry to be thick but when you mention the witnesses on 1836 marriage, i presume you mean the cert from gro.

Hi Carolyn

GRO certs only start in the second half of 1837, so for the 1836 marriage the only entry will be in Bottisham parish register. You don't get fathers' names which only start in 1837, but you do get the names of the witnesses which with luck might be siblings.

As you're stuck I think the 1839 cert should be £7 well spent!

Perhaps a separate look up request for the 1836 marriage might produce a result from someone who has the Bottisham transcript
