I've been looking -think I've found George in 1861 working in Worcester as a servant- there is a Selina Sandford with him am looking in 1851 now - wondering if for some reason their name was different - very different- trying to eliminate the family I have found by seeing if they are on other census-same name children (and a selina) same mother-same p.o.b. but name not remotely similar on image or transcription!

Selina could well be the sister , but george seems to have diffrent birth dates in the census.
in the 1861 it has him born 1847
in the 1871 it has him born 1848
in the 1881 it has him born 1853

Now that's interesting, as she gives her p.o.b. as Moreton hereford same as george in 1861
maybe I'll have a look in another area for them

and Huddersfiled seems to be to far form Moreton
what a strange family, unless they are under a completely difffrent name in the 1851, 1841

I also found a
Ann Sandford born 1867 burghill Srvant aged years old living with the Edmund Family in the 1871 Census
RG10/2699 Folio 36 Page 52
it seems that the children were living wiht other people at a young age

I have found Selina in 1871 as a servant in Tewksbury age 26 b. Burghill Hereford
1891 Selina still unmarried , servant in Ludlow p.o.b. Burghill Hereford
But there is no Selina Sandford of her age on any census b, Huddersfield - so it may be her birth reg???
Nearest I could find was 1851 a Selina Sawwood age 4 b. Yorks with grandparents Benjamin and Ann Illingworth
What an exciting chase!!
Well it will have been if we find them!!

as I can only find a bap for Joseph in 1856 to John and Ann, it could be possible that John was mairred to someone else had the first few children then his wife died so he married Ann. and then had ann 1854 the Joseph 1856

but it should still mean if that was the case that john and ann would still be in the 1861 census
