I am interested in the Cutress family of Henfield. I have been told that they attended St Peter's which does not appear on the IGI. Unfortunately I am unable to go down to West Sussex at the moment - is there any other way I can check the parish records?
I would be grateful for any help or information.

Hi ggrocott
Have you tried www.familyhistoryonline.co.uk Coverage for baptism and burial is pretty good for Sussex. There is a small charge but it is a relatively inexpensive website to use.
and of course various people including myself have a Sussex Marriage Index on CD so you can always ask for marriage look ups on the Sussex board.

I have had a look at familyhistoryonline - not much luck I'm afraid. I have had a lookup on the SMI for the one wedding I have details of - John Flint and Mary Cutress. If anyone can find one for William Cutress and Susanna, who I am led to believe are the parents of Mary, I would be grateful. Mary Cutress and John Flint apparently married in 1798 and had two sons John and Charles.

Hi Gill
Had a look on the SMI, nothing for a William. Another helpful suggestion which has worked for me in the past is to try and find a baptism for Mary through the look up system on the Sussex Family History Group website http://www.sfhg.org.uk/baptisms.html It maybe then with the baptism of Mary you could track down William and Susanna or whoever Mary's parents might be.

Thanks for the hint about SFHG - they have found Mary and her siblings, Susanna and William - children of John and Ann so now it is the marriage of John and Ann I am looking for in about 1775
