Hi Peter

I am decended from William warren (my GGG grandfather) born 1769 who died 1856, he was married to esther they had several children including a william warren who was born 1813 died 1855 (is this the same one  you mentioned)

anyway, william and esthers son john is my GGGG grandfather he married a hannah hind and their daughter susanna married thomas kelsey which then brings it down into my family.

thats the shortend version of my family tree!

I myself am from derbyshire and the kelsey family continued to live around the area of turnditch where the warren family are from.

I have just noticed that you talked about Eliza warren born and died 1847 (she too is on my tree the daughter of samuel and mary, samuel being the brother of my GGGG grandfather john)

In 1853 another eliza was born to the same family, myself and my uncle presumed she was named after the eliza who sadly died.  I have no details of whether this eliza married but i do know she had a daughter named esther warren born 1880

don't know if that is of any interest to you

What we have to be careful of is that I would guess you are a generation later than me.  I will be 68 in March and therefore my GGG generation would be your GGGG one.

I am retired and writing the first 25 years of my life story and a section includes my parents (now dead) and their ancestors

Hello Amy and Peter

It gets confusing! Iam in contact by e mail with Peter.

It seems Samuel Warren b 1814 was the son of John and Eliz whose son included William (Peter's gggg father)

Any way Samuel did have a daughter called Eliza she did not seem to leave the house of Samuel and Mary Warren (nee Smith) living alone in 1901 census.

I will forward a spreadsheet I made of the family and how it extended out.

One thing I think is one of Samuel and Mary children George went to be a farm Bailiff to J G Crompton.

                 Anyway here it is.

Sorry did not work I will e mail.

Regards
Grant

Amy

Yes, the same William Warren.
I have a printed baptism record saying William's parents are Jno and Elizth.
Is there a possibility that your William and Ester are William's grandparents as Ester's William would have been 44 when they had my William.  Is it possible that Jno could have been your William's son or brother?

Confusing but interesting !

I would guess that to postively link Samuel and the other Warrens around at that time to the 1813 William we need to search the Duffield parish records for baptisms around that era.

Regards
Peter

Of to Aus tomorrow, I will contact you when I get back.

yes, I think that is highly likely actually. I have seen my uncle today and we spent several hours matching up everyone on our tree with the people on this thread...

basically everyone matches up and we think that your william has been missed off our tree which would explain a lot since everything else matches up.

I have a copy of our tree if you would like a copy sending to you let me know and I will forward one!

best wishes Amy

Ps have fun in austrailia!

Sorry for the long delay in replying.  Yes I would like a copy of your family tree and some information about ester and william warren.  Was william related to my GGGG grandfather Jno Warren?  There was also about this time a Lay preacher called william warren, buried in Turnditch.  Was he related?
I also now think my william was an only child and his mother (elizth or elizabeth) died giving birth or soon afterwards.  Any comments.

Amy

I am now, within the next 5 days, sending my book to be printed.  I still have one ? to resolve.  I now believe my William (b. 1813) was an only child for it seems that his mother, Elizabeth, was very ill for a number of years before she died.  I am hoping that William was a cousin of John and Samuel etc and as  such I need to link his father,my GGGG John Warren (born 1773) with your William born a couple of years earlier.

Can you confirm or reject the link.

Best regards

Peter Warren
