Gorleston Parish LookUp Please - DRUERY
« on: Thursday 10 January 08 12:08 GMT (UK) »

Hello

I am looking for the birth/christening records for 3 siblings from Gorleston (possibly Bradwell):

George Druery - abt 1788 (1851 & 61 census) to 1868
Mary H. Druery - abt 1795 (1871 census)
John Henry Druery abt 1801-6 (1841, 1861, 1871 c) to 1880

The parents according to other trees are John Druery (abt 1756-1815) and Frances Sarah Norton (abt 1771) - birth places, wedding date and place unknown .

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi

I tried to read the Gorleston parish register (this is on microfilm) but I found it illegible in some places and struggled to find any Druerys.

However I did find one:

John s/o John Drury and Sarah his wife (late Sarah Norton) born 13th April 1799 privately baptised 14th April 1799.

I looked around the dates you mention above but unfortunately could not make out any other Druery entries.

Best wishes

Thanks Anne

Luckily I have met through Roots someone who transcribed the Druery entries from the original parish records. Altogether there were 7 children, the John you found being the youngest.

Thanks again
