kilmarnock and loudoun pre 1855 MIs
« on: Thursday 10 January 08 13:44 GMT (UK) »

I now have a copy of this book and can look up names for anyone.  The book is quite big so it might take me a while.  The parishes are Dunlop,
Stewarton
Fenwick
Kilmaurs
High Church Kirkyard, Kilmarnock
Laigh churchyard, Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock

St Peter's churchyard, Kilmarnock
Riccarton
Galston
Loudoun
Newmilns
Darvel

Hopefully I will be able to see something for someone else, it might make up for the fact that despite having generations of ancesters i this area, none of them are mentioned Roll Eyes

Hi Poppysmum

I wonder if you could do a lookup for me in Kilmarnock.  I am interested in a James Dickie who I think would have been born abt 1781.  He was a Shoemaker.

I am looking for a Barbara Baillie (who was married to Thomas Baillie).  Her maiden name was Barbara Oliphant (or Oliver).  Her son (John Baillie) died in 1855, buried at Riccarton I think and she appeared in the 1851 census (but in Pollock).  They moved to Ayrshire sometime after that census and 1855 when John died, but to date I cannot find any death record for Barbara.  Thomas remarried around 1857 so she must have died somewhere in between 1851 and the date of the second marriage.
