John/William Hills (? to 1871). Fitzwilliam and Hunting.
« on: Thursday 10 January 08 17:03 UTC (UK) »

According to Julia Hills, his grand-daughter,  John aka William Hills was Huntsman or Whip with the Fitzwilliam Hunt at Coolattin in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow. probably during the mid 1800s.
He later moved to Northamptonshire where the family lived in the village of Castor near Peterborough.
The family worked on the estate of Earl Fitzwilliam at Milton Hall near Peterborough or Wentworth, his estate in Yorkshire.
If any one could shed any more light on the Fitzwilliam Hunt  in Co. Wicklow and hopefully anything about John/William, I would love to hear from them.
