The Christian History Institute website tells the story of the Massacre of Drogheda under Oliver Cromwell which took place on September 11th 1649. 

The website of St Oliver's Scout Group, Drogheda has some history of the town and some early history of the Drogheda Scouts in the 1930s and 1940s. The Drogheda group are one of the groups of the Catholic Boy Scouts of Ireland.
