marriage look-up please Bedford

Dear Rootschatters,
I wondered if anyone could look up this marriage at thier local  Public Records office. The marriage is between Mary Jane Burton and Henry Richard A Stark they married in June 1899 in Bedford. I need to know parent names etc., I haven't the funds at present to order the certificate, so hoped someone could look this up for me when they visit their local PRO.

Hello Nooshie

Any idea which area of Bedford it could be ?. The Bedford Registration district covers quite a few parishes in the town & outlying villages of North Bedfordshire.  Bedford Archives has microfiche of marriages but they are all in separate parishes. 

Also trying to get a feel where this might be I tried briefly to find them on the 1901 census, but couldn't find them. If we can find birthplace of Mary Jane it might well be where they got married.

Hi John,
They were in Plymouth on the 1901 Census. Two of her sisters had settled there. She was born in Falmouth, so imagine that she maybe was in service in Bedford. He was a clerk and I don't know where he was born I only have Bedford from the Freecen BMD. At our PRO we can input a name and it tells you the Church they married in. Does Bedford have this facility?

1901 census has Henry Stack age 24 born London & wife Mary age 22 born Falmouth. .

So if you want parents names, then from 1891; Mary's parents could well be Henry Burton age 34, Mariner, & wife Elizabeth age 33, & with a 13 year old Mary J are daughters Susan 11 & Violet 5. All born Falmouth.

Hi and thanks. We have all the info from Falmouth, but wanted verification that it was the right girl who married in Bedford. We hate to make assumptions on anything although it seems highly likely. It is always interesting to know where people were working and the witnesses etc. We will wait until pay day and order the certificate!!
