   When I have looked at the film it is of the actual records from the original ledger not a transcripted version.

  I have found mistakes in transcripts before when the information was added to the wrong entry from another line .

  Will wait to see if Jill can answer any more .

   Sorry Jill .....

  Is the set you have transcribed or from the original .

  I brought Cheddington at the weekend from BFHS and it lists Thomas Seabrook died accidental drowning......the PR written version has him SHOT accidently!

   Mistakes then do happen.

   I will check when I get chance.

Hi,

As I think I said, I've borrowed a transcription from Bucks FHS - a lot of them are marked as from the Bishops Transcripts, which could account for some of the differences.

I suppose any transcription is only going to be as good as it's transcriber - and we're all human!

I also have Fawley marriages out at the moment - and a marriage that I was given in a name search by Bucks FHS a while ago is not in the transcription that I've just borrowed from them!

I know the only sure way is to see the originals or fiche copies of them, but it's all but impossible when you live 100s of miles away!  Undecided

By the way, I'm happy to look anything else up for you both whilst I've still got them.

     Yes I have seen minor differences with PR to BT for some.
Shame I haven't got any of mine in Boarstall. Drax is doing a search on all spellings of Elkerton which is where we cross but mine are all Beds.

                 Have you still got the  fiches for Boarstall?
       I am looking for a wedding  between  John Thomas Gibbens  and a Mary Unknown  from Boarstall  she was born about 1808
The wedding was pre 1837.

any help you could give would be wonderful

Hi David.

Yes, still got them - but only just! I'm posting them back tomorrow.

However, they only go up to 1811/12 so, unfortunately,  the marriage will not be covered.

No sign of a baptism for John Thomas Gibbens in the years leading up to 1811.

It's probably not much help, but looking at a couple of years either side of 1808 when you think Mary was born, there are the following baptisms in Boarstall for a Mary:

1806/7 Mar 15 Maryann Parker d/o John & Hanna
1807 Nov 15 Mary Hopcraft d/o Richard & Ann
1810 Jun 11 Mary May d/o Robert & Eliz.
1811 Jun 9 Mary Jackman d/o Wm. & Sarah

Hopefully, one of the above will turn out to be your Mary.

   Hi .....

  Had a look in the PR'S today and no Gibbens marriage up to 1836. Thats as far as the records in Milton Keynes go for some reason.
