researching for a Local History Group I have come across (IMO) a fascinating piece of family history (not mine) and I would love to contact member/s of the family to pass it on.
Since the change of ownership I am no longer a member of genes reunited and wondered if a member could look up a contact and direct them to Roots Chat where I can share this information
The information is on
Susannah Cater b 1817 Codnor Derbys (daughter of a stockinger and small holder) Died 1913
married (at selston Church Notts)
to
John Thorpe c.1817 Codnor Occupation mason
They lived after marriage at Hammersmith Ripley Derbys anf Lowes Hill Ripley Derbys
Their children were born -some in Codnor -others in Ripley
Children were
Joseph c 1840
Ruth c 1843 married Alfred Curzon(I think)
Sarah c 1845
Phoebe c 1847 married Alfred Curzon (after sister died)
Mary c 1850
John c.1854
James c..1856
Emma c 1859
Susan c.1864
I have found genes member s "Mary Poppins" and "Averille" who have Susannah Cater 1818 codnor in their tree -but not being a member myself cannot contact them
There may be others who are a "match"
I just feel it is a shame if the members of this family don't have this piece of history
I haven't found anyone researching this family on RootsChat
