John Turner (bray) married Elizabeth Stroud (hurst) 1699 White Waltham. Not sure if it's close enough to Binfield and did Waltham St Lawrence cover both?
ok now Thomas Hearne we know is not related but was at Bray the same time as your Turners, i found this relating to Thomas Hearne:~
Thomas Hearne (July, 1678 - June 10, 1735), English antiquarian, was born at Littlefield Green in the parish of White Waltham, Berkshire.
Having received his early education from his father, George Hearne, the parish clerk, he showed such taste for study that a wealthy neighbour, Francis Cherry of Shottesbrooke (c. 1665-1713), a celebrated non-juror, interested himself in the boy, and sent him to the school at Bray "on purpose to learn the Latin tongue." Soon Cherry took him into his own house, and his education was continued at Bray until Easter 1696,
does that answer your question???

looking for Turners (and variants of) in Berks on IGI (extracted records)
Binfield John bapt. 8 April 1722, died 06 Sept 1736 s/o John & Elizabeth Amey bapt. 28 Feb 1719 d/o do. Ann bapt. 8 Sept 1728 d/o do.
Jno Turner m. Eliz Newman 23 Oct 1715
The 1719, 1722 and 1728 might fit in at the end of the Bray-born children of John T. & Elizabeth Strood if she d. & he m. another Eliz., but there is Sarah b. 1717 Bray to consider.
John & Elizabeth are common names - but I suppose it's always possible that John Turner's first wife Elizabeth Strood died and he m. Elizabeth Newman? that would give us Elizabeth 1702, Susanah 1705 Ralph 1710 Ann 1713 from Wife No. 1, and Sarah 1717, Amey 1719, John 1722 & Ann 1728 from Wife No.2.
Only reason I suggest this is that it's unusual for a man in those days not to name a son after himself - might just be bad luck, though, that John Turner & Eliz. Strood couldn't manage any more children so he had to be content with four girls and one boy.
Is there a suitable Eliz. Turner death in or near Bray btw. 1713 and 1717, to account for first wife dying and John finding another?
