Cheesy Elizabeth b. c. 1848 in London married her cousin William Nichol, son of John, brother of George (I would assume!):

WILLIAM NICOLL and ELIZABETH NICOLL Marriage: 27 JAN 1869 Dundee, Angus, Scotland

1871 census entry:

Agnes Calder 12, head, laundress, b. Arbroath ( a bit of a mish-mash as you can see)
Elizabeth Nichol 23, seaman's wife, b. London
James Nichol 1, son b. Arbroath

Address: West Grimsby No 73, Arbroath

1881 entry:

Elizabeth Nicoll 32, sailor's wife, b. England
James Nicoll    11, b. Arbroath
Elizabeth Nicoll 8, b. Arbroath
John Carey 10 Mo, adopted son, b. England ( I wonder what the story was on this one...?)

Address:  8 Shore, Arbroath

Having problems tracing them from this census.
