The Registration District would be Medway

There is an Albert George Martin birth Jun 1897 Medway 2a 581, looks like your man.

Can't help you with Emma's possible re-marriage though, sorry!

Can't believe  I got lost in these pages !!Now I'm here. Thanks Mean_genie ? (you can't be or we wouldn't be chatting..)  Your message is correct to what I believe, what I should have said was, I read , I think on Medway Skycity that Chatham didn't come under Kent anymore but Medway.
oh the confusion of a silver moment!!
I had hoped to find more of him ie marriage or his mothers remarriage. Ther is one in 1911 to a Mr Marshall. Too many Emma MArtins to be sure. I shall carry on anyway.nicely of course.
Thankyou again M'genie.

Hi Annie, that answer is one of the things I'm trying to find out.
I met a cousin thro' Surrey mailing list & she found An Albert Martin (snr.) on the "Ganges" in Falmouth Harbour in 1891 tho' his age is a bit off.

In 1901 mis spelled 'Marter' a general labourer in Chatham. His wife Emmas' Father also a naval history.

And so I thought son Albert may have followed in the line.....again so many with similar name, very hard to find.

If anyone lives next door to a Martin please feel free to pop in & ask if they may be related.
cheers Wendy M.

Hi Wendy

Did you have any success with the parish registers on Medway Cityark?

Casulguidi, thanks for stopping by. CityArk is the "TOPS"

I found widow 'Emma Martins' marriage to  William Marshall (a Marine)St. Johns.

Baptism of son Albert George,1897  son Edward Charles, 1903(who seems to have died in 1903 with Father Albert -St. Pauls

Marriage of Albert George jr. to Edith Frances Elizabeth Hazelton 1922. - Their son Charles Ernest 1926 -St. Pauls.

I've now been going popeyed trying to find birth of Ms Hazelton or her FAther Albert Alfred Hazelton in Rochester or anywhere else.
no..nyet..non..nup. not anywhere !

One close entry in 1901 census wife Edith dtr Elizabeth (this is where Rochester comes from)
I've been chatting over the other fence, & found no joy there either, but the buzz of finding the boys will last a long time, & if anyone connects up to these....wow!

Back to the laundry, 'morning all. Grin Grin Grin
