The Newbury parish records aren't on the IGI.

At the moment, I have James May marrying in 1720 in Speen. A fellow Rootschatter has already helped me establish that James wasn't baptised in Speen.

I've found a reference to a 1685 Bond involving 3 Newbury men - including a James May, brewer of Newbury - to do with pledging money for the upkeep of one of their dwellings, so that it doesn't become a liability on the local parish overseers.

I'm wondering if this James May could possibly be the father (or even grandfather) of my James May.

I'd be really grateful if anyone could check the Newbury PRs to see if this May family were from Newbury?
