Hi all,
I have a Roger Oakden on census from 1841-1861 but can't find him after this. The only likely death record I can find is for 1873 in Gloucester, Gloucestershire aged 87 but this is confusing as he's older than on census and can't be found on the 1871 census.
In 1841 he is living 18 Victoria st, St Michael, Gloucestershire age 45
In 1851 he is living 1 Bear land, St Nicholas, Gloucester age 58
In 1861 he is living 21 Westgate st, St Nicholas, Gloucester age 70
He was born Stanton, Staffordshire and wife Charlotte was with him on above census her death seems to have been in 1865 in Gloucester.
I know of 4 children of Roger and Charlotte
Edwin b. abt 1828 Stourport, Worcestershire
Edith b. abt 1832 Stourport Worcestershire
Fanny b. abt 1835 Stourport, Worcestershire
Mary Ann b. abt 1838 Stourport, Worcestershire
I know that Edith married Duncan Stuart (b. Scotland) who was a prison governer in Norfolk which is where they moved to but know nothing of the rest of Roger's children.
If anyone can shed any more light on this family for me that would be wonderful.

I can see a possible death for son Edwin ....
Edwin Smith Oakden b @1828 died 1870 Q3 Cheltenham Glouc.

Hi Tazzie,
wow your quick this evening. Yeah I saw that too but not sure about it as I don't know where the smith comes from. His mother was a Harrison before marriage and not sure of her parents. Poss parents for Roger weren't smiths...unless I have that wrong. Plus I have only been able to find him on the 1841 census with parens age 13 and nothing after that.

I see Charity/Charlottes birthplace was Mitton

Andrew Bird married Ann Harrison 24 FEB 1824 Saint Martin, Worcester, Worcester, England
Ann could be Charlottes sister and aunt to Martin and Emma!! all very interesting.
