A copy of the page from the Old Parochial Register (OPR) containing that marriage can be downloaded from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk on a pay per view basis.
I had a quick look at the index - beware of the groom's surname, it is there as CLEATER. The amount of information on an OPR is variable, but generally little. It is not the same as a birth certificate (these did not start in Scotland until 1855).

A look on the IGI confirms the spelling (Cleater) and shows Isabel's father as John Mathison. The OPR may give you parishes for both and possibly an occupation for her father.

Hi Doreen,
I've had a look at that OPR page and see the place name as Kinvy. The "y" is superscripted, so I take it that Kinvy is an abbreviation. There are a couple of other Kinvys further up the page if you want to see if you agree with my interpretation of the word. Two submissions on the IGI show the place name interpreted as Kinry, but I am not convinced by them.
Searching online maps of many ages, I didn't find anything that matched. So I consulted a Royal Mail postcode directory that I have and came up with what I believe to be the place - Kinvonvie, in Lairg parish. I take the abbreviation to be short for Kinvonvy, I am assuming a spellling variation of Kinvonvie.
If you go to www.streetmap.co.uk and input the postcode IV24 4DG an arrow wil point to the place, un-named on the map, a short distance outside Lairg.

Would a few people from Kinvonvie get married in Edinburgh around that time?
